Cardiology

    Overview

Cardiology is the branch of medicine that focuses on the heart and blood vessels. SIU Medicine’s cardiology team provides expert care for conditions including coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, and valvular disease.

Keeping your heart healthy starts with prevention. Our team helps patients manage risks like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes and smoking. Regular check-ups and screenings can catch problems early—before they become serious.

For those with chronic conditions, we create personalized care plans to manage symptoms, adjust treatments and improve daily life. Our team works closely with other health care providers to offer the best possible care. Our goal is to keep hearts healthy and help people live longer, healthier lives.
