About me
Sports medicine specialist, Elisabeth Robinson, MD, joined the SIU Medicine Department of Surgery as an Assistant Professor in Orthopedics in 2021. She provides comprehensive orthopedic care, specializing in sports medicine, arthroscopy of the shoulder and knee, and joint replacements.
Dr. Robinson attended medical school in her hometown of Chapel Hill at the University of North Carolina. After completing Orthopedic Surgery residency training at the University of Massachusetts, she underwent fellowship training in Sports Medicine at the New England Baptist Hospital. In Boston, she was an assistant team physician for the Boston Celtics and Tufts University. Prior to SIU, she was in a busy private practice in Greenville, North Carolina, and was previously faculty at the University of Virginia Department of Orthopedic Surgery in the Culpeper Medical Center division. Her research interests include clinical outcomes after arthroscopic surgery.
Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her husband, Will, who is a vascular surgeon at SIU and their three young children. Dr. Robinson was a former Division I collegiate soccer player, and now is an avid runner and enjoys attending athletic events at all levels.
