James Feimster, MD
About me
Dr. James Feimster is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery for the Division of General Surgery at SIU Medicine. He completed his undergraduate training at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. Dr. Feimster earned his medical degree from SIU School of Medicine and subsequently completed General Surgery Residency training at SIU School of Medicine. He completed a Laparoscopic Bariatric and Advanced Gastrointestinal Surgery fellowship in Charlotte, NC at Carolinas Medical Center - Atrium Health.
Dr. Feimster is board certified in General Surgery through the American Board of Surgery. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons, American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, and Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.
Dr. Feimster's specializes in metabolic and bariatric surgery. His practice also includes forgut and minimally invasive gastrointestinal surgery, as well as acute care surgery and endoscopy.
