Michaela Schneiderbauer, MD, MBA

Dr. Michaela Schneiderbauer joins the faculty in the SIU Medicine Department of Surgery as the new Chief of Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Schneiderbauer brings over 15 years of experience as a hip and knee replacement specialist. Her most recent appointment was Chair of Orthopedic Surgery for Southwestern Vermont Medical Center with the Dartmouth Health Putnam Physicians group. With fellowship training in both Adult Reconstructive Surgery and Orthopedic Oncology from the University of Miami, Dr. Schneiderbauer has the expertise necessary for the least invasive hip and knee replacements as well as for hip and knee revision surgeries. She offers her patients a personalized and comprehensive approach tailored to improving mobility and quality of life.
