Nicole Soper, FNP-BC

Nicole Soper, FNP-BC, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who specializes in urologic oncology and general urology. Nicole graduated as a registered nurse from Illinois State University in May of 2002. She worked primarily in critical care nursing, in both the emergency room, intensive care unit, and the recovery room. She has earned certification as both a trauma nurse (TNS & TNCC) and a critical care nurse (CCRN). In 2013, she earned her Master’s in Business from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ. She then enrolled in Olivet Nazarene University, where she graduated with Honors as a Family Nurse Practitioner in January of 2016.  She began her career as a Nurse Practitioner in the Family Practice and Geriatric setting.

In November 2017, she began her career in urology and urologic oncology under Dr. Tom Tarter in Decatur, IL.  In December  2019, she joined the ranks of SIU Urology, working primarily with Dr. Robert Blackwell in the office of SIU and Urology Associates of Decatur, located on the Decatur Memorial Hospital campus. She works in both the clinic, hospital and operating room settings, where she serves as a First Assist for both robotic and open cases.

Nicole specializes in the management of general urology concerns such as stones, BPH, and lower urinary symptoms. Her urologic oncology practice includes the management of prostate, renal, and bladder cancer patients. She also manages a men’s clinic where she treats erectile dysfunction and symptomatic hypogonadism. Nicole is a member of both the American Urological Society (AUA) and the Society of Urological Nurses (SUNA).
