    About me

    Dr. Tenegra was born and raised in Illinois, is married to another family physician, and has three children. He enjoys practicing full-spectrum family medicine but is especially interested in performing procedures, pediatrics, and women’s health. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, racing in triathlons, and being involved in the local community.

    Dr. Tenegra is the Director of Point of Care Ultrasound and Faculty Development for the SIU Department of Family & Community Medicine. He also chairs the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine (STFM) Emerging Leaders Fellowship. Dr. Tenegra’s research and educational interests include using simulation to improve clinical care and medical education, incorporating point-of-care ultrasound into residency education, and faculty/leadership development.
