Exploring Alzheimer's, health disparities on The 21st Show

The Smith Alzheimer's Center's Cindy Womack, DNP, FNP-BC, CNRN and Ann Jirmasek, MA, LCPC, NCC, joined The 21st Show to discuss the latest in Alzheimer's research, how Alzheimer's disproportionately affects the Black community, dementia risk factors and how to manage them, and importance of caregivers and the stress they endure.

They joined Herb Caldwell, producer and director of "My Mama Joe: Hope and Help," which explores the life of JoeAnna Caldwell, a community organizer and volunteer in Jacksonville before needing help herself after an Alzheimer's diagnosis.

A screening of the "My Mama Joe" documentary will be available at 6 pm, Thursday, April 3 at AMC Springfield 8. There is no cost to attend, but online registration is required.
