Institute for Plastic Surgery opens office in Decatur

The Institute for Plastic Surgery has partnered with Decatur Memorial Hospital to expand its services to Macon County and the surrounding area. Plastic and reconstructive surgeon Michael Rueubhausen, MD, leads the Decatur clinic. The Institute for Plastic Surgery in Decatur will provide patients with a complete range of cosmetic and reconstructive surgical options, including:

  • Non-surgical treatments, including fillers, BOTOX, laser skin resurfacing, fat reduction, chemical peels and medical-grade facials
  • Breast and body surgeries, including breast lifts and augmentations, Brazilian butt lifts, tummy tucks and liposuction
  • Cancer excision and reconstruction
  • Hand surgery

The Decatur clinic is located in Suite 200 at 302 W. Hay Street, adjacent to Decatur Memorial Hospital. SIU Urology is also located at the West Hay Medical Center.

Ruebhausen earned his medical degree at SIU School of Medicine and completed the school’s internationally recognized plastic surgery residency training. Before returning to Central Illinois, he worked in private practice near Chicago.

“I grew up in a small farming community in Southern Illinois,” the SIU alumnus shares. “Returning to rural Illinois feels like home, and I’m looking forward to continuing to serve the people of central and southern Illinois for all of their reconstructive and cosmetic needs.”
