Bone Marrow Disorders
Overview
Bone marrow is the soft tissue on the interior of bones where red blood cells are formed. Bone Marrow can be attacked by such conditions as aplastic anemia, malignancies such as multiple myeloma, or infections such as tuberculosis, leading to a decrease in the production of blood cells and blood platelets. Bone marrow transplants are a surgical procedure used to combat several of these conditions.
