Fever
Overview
Fever is defined as a body temperature higher than the body's normal range. This causes muscle contraction and chills. Fevers are typically a bodily response to infection and can range in severity from mild to severe. Most fevers do not require medical attention, with exceptions for children younger than three months or patients with compromised immune systems. More severe fevers may also require medical treatment.
