    He completed fellowship training in colon and rectal surgery at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. He completed his surgery residency at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons, American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeon, Association of Academic Surgery, and American Medical Association.
