Call for Team Science Grant Applications 2024
The Simmons Cancer Institute at SIU (SCI) seeks to fund research proposals led by clinician-basic scientist teams that focus on translational cancer research. The main objective of the awards is to stimulate novel and highly integrative translational cancer research programs that synergize the expertise of clinicians and basic scientists. Two TSG awards are planned to be funded contingent upon quality of applications and availability of SCI research funds. Applicants must have a clear and direct focus on cancer. Cancer-orientated clinicians and basic scientist faculty from the Springfield and Carbondale campuses are eligible to apply. The application process begins with a Letter of Intent (due February 16, 2024), with full applications due April 8, 2024. Funded projects are anticipated to begin July 1, 2024.
This is the 13th year of TSG funding by SCI. Support for the TSG program is made possible through funds raised by Denim & Diamonds and Women's Power Lunch Against Cancer, benefiting cancer research and patient programs at Simmons Cancer Institute. Denim & Diamonds and Women's Power Lunch support innovative research projects that move laboratory discoveries into the clinical setting, which is a distinguishing feature of SCI’s program. Every dollar donated stays in our region.
