Cancer survivors: You're invited to become a 2019 Face of Hope

Each October, Simmons Cancer Institute (SCI) at SIU, features a presentation called “Faces of Hope" at the Annual Denim & Diamonds Gala, the institute's primary fundraising event. Photos of approximately 30 cancer survivors flash across the screen to music to raise funds for cancer research, patient programs, and the growing needs of our patient population. We celebrate every survivor is celebrated regardless of where treatment was received. The American Laryngological, Rhinological and Otological Society, Inc., better known as the Triological Society, has named SIU Medicine surgeon Sandra Ettema, MD, PhD, CCC/SLP, a fellow of its 124-year-old organization. Ettema is the co-chair and an assistant professor of the Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at SIU Medicine in Springfield, Illinois.
