SIU Medicine Earns National Award for Patient Access, Referral Management

In May 2018, the Patient Access Collaborative, formerly the Patient Access Symposium, recognized SIU Medicine with the award "Best Practice in Patient Access for Referral Management." The Patient Access Collaborative, founded in 2011, provides a forum for large academic health systems to discuss solutions, disseminate ideas and collaborate as a collective group to improve patient access in a complex ambulatory enterprise. Simmons Cancer Institute at SIU Medicine will host “The ABC’s of HPV” at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 21. The roundtable discussion will provide parents and guardians with an opportunity to discuss human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccinations with medical professionals from Southern Illinois University Medicine. Several Southern Illinois University Medicine faculty were among those honored as "Innovators of the Year" during the inaugural Illinois Capital Innovation Competition.
