Infectious Diseases

    Overview

Infectious diseases are caused by pathogenic microorganisms, such as bacteria, viruses, parasites or fungi. The diseases can be spread, directly or indirectly, from one person to another. Some pathogens are spread through the air, or surface contact. Symptoms and treatment vary, depending on the nature of the infection.
