Pelvic Organ Prolapse

    Overview

Pelvic organ prolapse occurs when a pelvic organ drops from its normal place in the lower belly and pushes against the walls of the vagina. Pelvic organ prolapse is a common condition among women who have experienced either pregnancy or abdominal surgery. It causes general discomfort or pain, but is not a serious medical condition. If necessary, it can be treated with surgery.
