SIU School of Medicine Employee Recognition Programs
Employee recognition is an important aspect of our work at SIU School of Medicine as we value and appreciate the efforts of our employees. There are several ways that we honor our employees for their outstanding contributions. Below are a just a few of our programs:
Employee of the Month
Any employee who has completed the initial probationary period may be nominated for Employee of the Month, with the exception of Selection Committee members. An employee can be nominated by anyone - employee, patient, visitor, medical staff, etc.
Employee of the Year
The Employee of the Year is selected annually by the Employee Recognition Committee. The Employee of the Year is chosen from the employees who received the Employee of the Month award in the previous calendar year.
Supervisor of the Year
This award is designed to recognize the outstanding contributions of the supervisors at SIU School of Medicine who lead and guide our staff every day. Employees receiving this honor are treated to lunch with the Dean, receive a token of appreciation, receive a certificate recognizing their achievement, are invited to the annual recognition event, have their photograph displayed in the Dean's Lobby and are also eligible to be named Employee of the Year!
Service Awards
SIU School of Medicine feels it is important to honor those employees who have dedicated years of service to the organization. Employees of SIU School of Medicine celebrating milestone anniversaries starting at 5 years and continuing in five year increments are honored in a special way each year.
Group Quality Award
This award recognizes a group at SIU School of Medicine for their outstanding contributions in delivering service or improving health outcomes or work processes. All staff and faculty at SIU School of Medicine are eligible, and any employee can nominate a group for this award.
Harbinger of Goodwill
The Harbinger of Goodwill program was established to recognize SIU School of Medicine employees for going above and beyond in their commitment to the mission, vision and values of the organization. Nominations will be provided to the employee's supervisor along with a token of appreciation.
