Trials and determination
For around two decades, Karen Perrero taught at parochial schools as a science teacher, introducing young students to the world of science. But after her diagnosis of dementia, she and her husband, Daren, turned their fascination of science in a new direction: Clinical trials.
While the goal is to develop better treatments, the Perreros have found a slew of other benefits by just enrolling in a study.
